Cross-Country Fall 2022 Sports Registration

For girls and boys interested in running Cross-Country, during Fall 2022 the St. Jane de Chantal CYO will again be participating in a the Archdiocesan CYO Cross-Country program.  The Archdiocesan CYO, St. Jane, and Montgomery County are currently working on Fall 2022 youth sports regulations concerning making wearing, vaccinations, and social distancing.  We will follow those guidelines and will communicate what these are as soon as we know.

Because we LOVE running and want to share out love of the sport with your children, we welcome all skill levels from the new to the seasoned runner and have a place for every child to reach their fitness and competitive goals while representing their school and having fun.

The first two practices during the week of August 22, 2022 will be "try-it" practices for new runners to come out and sample the sport as well as provide an opportunity for our seasoned runners to get together and catch up in a relaxed environment.

WE NEED COACHES!  For this fun and rewarding experience, enjoying running (rather than speed) is the number one qualification.  Responsibilities include corralling, motivating, keeping track of runners, running at the back of the pack, helping with first aid, and sharing the excitement of the sport.

Good CYO coaches are welcoming, enjoy children, and exude patience and a smile.  If you are interested, please e-mail Catie Skibo, catherine.skibo@gmail.com.

We have a particular interest in coaches for Fall 2022 K-5th grade, but welcome others as well.  Since you must be VIRTUS certified and have taken required Archdiocesan CYO training courses before coaching, please contact us ASAP so we can ensure you fulfill all the requirements.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION:  Registration is open to any Fall 2022 Grades K-8 boy or girl who attends St. Jane School or whose parents/guardians are registered St. Jane parishioners.  There are separate practice times based on grade and ability as well as vaccination against covid-19.
